SHTF Sunday Summary

Week #8 of the Sunday SHTF Survival Summary.  Some great and interesting reads out there this week.  Let’s get right to it.

1. One of my favorite blogs is The Economic Collapse Blog.  Every time I read a post there, I learn something I certainly did not know.  This week they cover 4 reasons why you should be even less optimistic about the global financial system than you were last week.  One of the items reviews that the 3rd California city went bankrupt in less than a month.  This is something that has always perplexed me as I wondered when these dominos would fall.  Looks like they may have started.

2. Defending yourself when the SHTF is something we tend to focus on but many just believe having a gun covers it.  SHTFPlan covers 10 Things You Must Do To Defend Yourself in great detail.  My favorite is #6 on barriers.  Being able to put multiple types of barriers between you and your attackers is a tremendous tactical advantage.

3. We’ve all heard about the various ways that being “politically correct” hurts this country.  Off Grid Survival discusses how the lowering of our Army Ranger standards to put the program in a good light is potentially reducing the effectiveness of these forces.  If nearly everyone is allowed to pass, it’s not really a “special” force.

4. We all prepare for criminals to enter our home but how often do we truly try to think like them?  The Prepared Ninja reviews 21 Things A Burglar Won’t Tell You.  When thinking of where to hide your safe, think of #11 on the list.  I almost never go into kids’ rooms.
